Republic Airline, based in Indianapolis, operates a fleet of 180 Embraer 170/175 aircraft and offers scheduled passenger service with 900 daily flights to 100 cities in 35 U.S. states, Canada, the Caribbean and Central America.  The airline provides fixed-fee flights operated under our major airline partner brands of American Eagle, Delta Connection and United Express.

Duties and Responsibilities


Reviews and analyzes payroll data, monitors various reports and responds to associate inquiries.  Processes all wage withholdings, assists with various tax processes, helps with year-end reporting and prepares reports using the HR information system.



  1. Processes high volume of payroll processing and preparation for associates at various locations throughout the organization.
  2. Interprets and explains complex payroll information to associates at various levels.
  3. Identifies potential issues using analytical and basic math skills.
  4. Maintains knowledge of payroll tax statutory requirements and regulations in order to determine and record the appropriate tax information for associates and to answer related questions.
  5. Processes all garnishments, child support orders, tax levies and other wage withholdings.
  6. Resolves payroll issues using reasoning skills.
  7. Produces informational reports for internal company usage and for state labor statistics.
  8. Assists with year-end tax reporting and W-2s.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.



  • Specialty training beyond high school in payroll courses, tax and withholding compliance and database / report building training.   Requires at least 1 year of experience in payroll or related area. 
  • Preferred:  Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or related degree.  Prefer 3 years of experience and Certified Payroll Professional and/or Fundamental Payroll Certification.
  • Able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. 
  • Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 
  • Makes day to day decisions used to support strategic direction.  Decisions often require some thought and are somewhat structured.  Decisions tend to be short term and usually moderate cost.
