Overview

Republic Airline, based in Indianapolis, operates a fleet of 180 Embraer 170/175 aircraft and offers scheduled passenger service with 900 daily flights to 100 cities in 35 U.S. states, Canada, the Caribbean and Central America.  The airline provides fixed-fee flights operated under our major airline partner brands of American Eagle, Delta Connection and United Express.

Duties and Responsibilities

POSITION PURPOSE

 

Leads and develops a specialized team within Talent Acquisition, utilizing best practices, high quality standards and performance to ensure the Company recruits and retains high caliber associates to consistently achieve overall hiring goals.  Implements recruitment strategies identified to solidify Republic Airline’s commitment to acquire and develop a diverse workforce, including internal top talent mobility.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES 

  1. Aligns talent acquisition and talent management efforts with the organization’s strategy, business objectives and acquisition/retention goals.
  2. Assists the Director in developing strategies, programs and tools needed to identify and attract the most qualified talent, such as program branding, candidate assessment, referral programs, college recruiting initiatives and diversity efforts.  Assists in development and utilization of key Company marketing and recruiting materials.
  3. Assists in the development of recruitment policies and procedures.  Reviews and analyzes all current recruiting practices and processes and make appropriate recommendations for any changes, improvements, alternatives, etc.
  4. Partners with finance, legal, employee relations and other internal client business partners to align hiring and recruitment strategies with budgeted staffing projections.
  5. Collaborates with department managers from client groups to discuss upcoming hiring needs and assists in compiling competencies to hire the best people.
  6. Manages and executes requisition and hiring activities for leadership level (manager and above).
  7. Assists in developing and maintaining hiring metrics for recruitment team and analyzes findings to determine status and progress.
  8. Manages relationships with vendor partners while aligning with organization’s key objectives to reduce costs.
  9. Ensures adherence to the departmental budget and monitors expenditures.
  10. Ensures adherence and full utilization of the applicant tracking system.
  11. Ensures interviewing, testing and hiring processes are in compliance with all EEO legislation, the Americans with Disability Act (ADA), FAA, and all other government legal requirements.
  12. Screens, interviews and makes recommendations for hiring potential employees.  Coaches, mentors and provides leadership, direction, motivation and supervision of direct reports.  Appraises performance, provides performance feedback, takes corrective actions and oversees training and development of staff. 
  13. Performs other projects and duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related area
  • 5 years of progressive experience in a related area, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in supervising or leading others.  Ability to coach and mentor team members
  • Experience managing/utilizing an applicant tracking system. 
  • Experience recruiting all levels of positions including professional, technical, and executives preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy, efficiency, and in a timely manner in a fast-paced environment
  • SPHR/PHR preferred.
  • Able to provide evidence of experience in hiring the best, recognizing outstanding service, and being responsible for actions in goal attainment. 
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively to create solutions and think strategically 
  • Travel up to 25% of the time, including overnight travel for conferences, career events, and offsite meetings.
