Duties and Responsibilities

POSITION PURPOSE

Analyzes corporate finance and credit activities including debt agreements, debt reporting, and covenant calculations.  

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  1. Performs various financial analysis to increase cash flow, including making recommendations for investments of cash, lease vs. buy decisions, and other financial transactions.
  2. Ensures lease, debt, and other aircraft/engine-related financial obligations and financial reporting requirements are completed timely and accurately.
  3. Ensures compliance with operating/capital lease and debt covenants; provides reporting to lessors.
  4. Works with aircraft and engine manufacturers, banks, lessors, consultants and internal contacts, (e.g., Legal, Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, etc.) to reduce aircraft ownership expenses.
  5. Assists with fleet related activities including tracking, reporting, purchase and lease agreement administration.
  6. Assists with risk management throughout the organization from insurance to operational risk management.
  7. Oversees contract administration including payments, as well as, with the design and development of databases to track all aircraft-related equipment including maintenance reserves.
  8. Assists in risk management and developing plans to reduce total cost of insurance.
  9. Performs other ad-hoc projects and/or duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary to perform this job.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.) in Accounting, Finance, or related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 8 years Finance or Accounting related experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effectively communicate both internally with financial and non-financial employees as well as externally with banks, lessors, lenders, and other financial parties.

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

 

REASONING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

DECISION MAKING

Makes decisions daily on use of resources, performance and budgets.  Decisions could require additional expenditure of resources if not sound decisions.
