    Duties and Responsibilities

    POSITION PURPOSE


    Provides company oversight and control of aircraft parts and components as received, ensuring their authenticity, serviceability, and airworthiness.

     

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES 

    1. Inspects aircraft parts and materials to ensure compliance with 14 CFR Federal Aviation Regulations and Company policies.
    2. Provides guidance and instruction to Material Services to ensure parts are handled, stored and protected in accordance with Company policies and procedures, bust industry practices and Federal Aviation Regulations.
    3. Works with Material Service to ensure parts are handled and stored properly.
    4. Coordinates with Material Specialists to address part receipt issues.
    5. Files and tracks calibrated tooling and certification.
    6. Assists in sending repairs out for repair
    7. Performs Dimensional inspections.
    8. Sets tasks in RAMCO when next part inspection is due.
    9. Maintains a clean, safe working environment throughout the work shift.
    10. Submits in writing any suggested changes in operational procedures that will enhance safety and cost effective aircraft maintenance.
    11. Adheres to established work schedule.  Participates in shift meetings and briefings as required.
    12. Updates Supervisor on progress of work performed.  Reviews paperwork at the end of shift to ensure that all work accomplished is signed for prior to departing the maintenance facility.  Assists with completion of shift turnover reports in accordance with procedures in the GMM.
    13. Completes all department internal company forms, maintenance records, documents, work orders, etc. including performing maintenance computer system transactions as required.
    14. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

    Requirements

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

     

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE.

    • High school diploma or equivalent. At least one year related experience.
    • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
    • Must be able to operate forklifts and other machinery.
    • Must be able to pass and remain current on HAZMAT Dangerous Goods Handling course.
    • Must be at least 18 years old.
    • Possess basic computer skills in Microsoft Office and Word. 

    PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Previous experience in aviation or supply chain preferred.  Previous lead or supervisory experience.

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

     

    REASONING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

     

    DECISION MAKING

    Makes limited decisions and determines best methods to solve problems by referring to established precedents and policies.  Impact of decisions is moderately low.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

     

    Able to move about the work environment. 

    Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear.

    Able to lift or move up to 50 pounds.

     

     WORK ENVIRONMENT

     

    Work near moving mechanical parts, around fumes and in high or precarious places.

    Work in an open air hangar up to 100% of the time.

    Exposed to moderate noise. 

     

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

    Travel up to 10% of the time, including overnight travel.  Able to work a schedule that supports 24 hour operations.
