    Duties and Responsibilities


    Directs all Inspection and Quality Control activities for the Company.  Ensures flight safety of Company Aircraft and airworthiness requirements through various maintenance and engineering quality assurance auditing and process improvement programs. 




    1. Directs the processes and procedures utilized to ensure they are adequate to maintain the Certificate of Airworthiness as valid. Directs that all aircraft conform to 14 CFR Part 121 regulations.
    2. Revises and distributes the Republic Airlines General Maintenance Manual, as needed.
    3. Ensures that all inspection personnel have the necessary training, technical material including manuals, service bulletins and airworthiness directives to support the inspection assigned.
    4. Reviews all airworthiness directives and service bulletins for applicability to aircraft or equipment affected.
    5. Ensures aircraft, engine and component manuals are revised and maintained in an updated manner.
    6. Ensures airworthiness condition of parts re-entering parts department is monitored.
    7. Updates inspection programs on aircraft as required. Performs trend monitoring on all engines.
    8. Provides continuing analysis and surveillance of all maintenance and inspection programs as to their performance and effectiveness. Identifies potential problems to aircraft or components.
    9. Approves vendors, contract maintenance and fuel contractors.
    10. Ensures that contract agency and vendor audits are performed within the specified time limit.
    11. Exercises the authority to amend company Operations Specifications sections A, D and E.
    12. Maintains liaison with the FAA and industry organizations in the field of aircraft maintenance.
    13. Screens, interviews and makes recommendations for hiring potential employees.  Coaches and provides leadership, direction, motivation and supervision of direct reports.  Appraises performance, provides performance feedback, takes corrective actions, oversees training and development of staff. 
    14. Performs various other duties as assigned.





    Specialty training beyond high school in Aviation with at least 3 years of experience.

    Meets the qualifications for Chief Inspector listed in 14 CFR 119.67(d).

    Maintains an Airframe and Powerplant license.



    Associate’s degree or equivalent in Aviation and/or Engineering with at least 8 years of experience.         


    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.


    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.



    Makes decisions on long-term objectives, resources and policies.  Has one of the highest levels of decision making authority.  Decisions have the most impact across and outside of organization along with the maximum cost implications to the organization.



    Able to move about the work environment. 

    Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear.
